Precies zo rond mijn verjaardag vorige maand was de top af!
Spring finally seams around! It was a perfect day to use glue spray and sandwich this little uqilt outside. Funny enough it is a little winterquilt. Sandra gave me the pattern last year for my birthday and collected fabrics over the year. My new sewing machine was the perfect opportunity to make this little beauty. O, how I loved my automatic scissors when sewign those log cabin blocks on foundation. No more long threads for pulling hte foundation from under my machine. I finished it somewhere very near my birthday last month!
I grabbed a piece of Hobbs and it turned out to be just a few centimeters short! So I cut it through, turned both pieces 90 degrees and sewed it together with a stitched zigzag. I love this stitch and this methode. Works perfect as long as the edges are really straight and the Hobbs not too much stretched. Sorry, but it got a little bit windy, so I had to use my feet to keep it flat!
For the backing I found an outdated fabric which otherwise would not be used anymore. I think it fits the theme perfect and now the snowman have houses to survive the winter ;-)
